Australia Provides Free Erectile Dysfunction Drugs to War Veterans
Wednesday, 26 Aug 2009
In Australia men who have fought for their country gets special
exemptions which allow them to get free erectile dysfunction
drugs Levitra, Cialis or Viagra.
In fact this generous gesture from the Australian taxpayer
has cost them almost 12 million Australian dollars the equivalent
of £6 million over a four year period. In all 165,000 prescriptions
have been issued the majority of which are for Pfizer's Viagra
which is the best selling erectile dysfunction drug in Australia
and in most nations around the world.
Veterans are often accorded special treatment when it comes to health care because of the feeling that they have given so much for the country that it is wrong to make them pay for medicine. In the case of erectile dysfunction
medication it has been argued that the stress of fighting in battle can actually be responsible for the erection problems. In fact many of the veterans are not elderly and in seemingly good health. In order to become eligible for free Viagra tablets it is necessary however to show that the cause of the erectile dysfunction is not linked to the use of other medications or alcohol and drug abuse.
