Vision Problem and Impotence Drugs

The numbers of impotence victims are increasing day by day. The reason behind the large number of impotence victim is today's lifestyle. Impotence is an inability to sustain erection of the penis at the time of sexual intercourse. The main reason behind erectile dysfunction (Impotence) is lack of adequate blood supply to the penis to get an erection. The age factor also plays a major role for impotence. The man suffering from erectile dysfunction can lose his penile erection for a time period or permanently.

FDA has approved three medicines for impotence is:

  1. Levitra
  2. Viagra
  3. Cialis

The common side effects from the above three erectile dysfunction drugs are:

  1. Abnormal Vision
  2. Headache
  3. Flushing
  4. Dyspepsia
  5. Nasal Congestion
  6. Urinary Tract Infection
  7. Diarrhea
  8. Dizziness
  9. Rash

Abnormal Vision or vision loss is the major side effect of impotence drugs. The vision loss could be mild or transient; it can increase the sensitivity to light or blurred vision. Impotent drugs can cause NAION (Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy) in patients who are already at the risk of heart disease. The main reason behind vision problem is that erectile dysfunction drugs can block the blood flow to the optic nerve in the inner back of the eye. Because of NAION, optic nerve is unable to transmit the images to brain.

FDA is trying to find out the relation between vision loss and the erectile dysfunction drugs like Levitra, Cialis and Viagra. More than hundred men have already lost there vision permanently or partially. FDA says that impotence is associated with diabetes and heart disease which can also cause vision problem to some extent.

Who should not take impotence drugs?

 Don't take any impotence drug:

  1. If you take any medicines called "nitrates".
  2. If you have problem like diabetes, heart disease or etc.
  3. If your healthcare professional not allowed you to have sexual activities.
  4. If the main substance of ED drug is allergic to you.
